LeBron Raymone James Sr. born on December 30, 1984 is an American professional basket ball player, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). The player is referred to by the name of King James and is considered to be among the most successful basketball players in history. James has won four NBA championships, four NBA MVPs Three All-Star MVPs, and the two Olympic medals. James had more points than any other player during the playoffs. He has the second most points in his career and ranks seventh among career assists. James has been named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times, and was named to his place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. As a total, James has been a part of 10 NBA Finals, the third-most ever. It was eight in a row between 2011 and 2018. In 2021, James was selected to be part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 became the first player of NBA history to accumulate 10,000 points or more in a career as well as assists and rebounds. James played basketball with St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he grew up. National media touted James as a possible NBA superstar. As a prep-to-pro player, he was picked to the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in 2003's NBA draft. Following his selection as 2004's NBA Rookie of the Year, he rapidly became a top player within the NBA winning the NBA's MVP Award both in 2009 and 2010. He was unable to secure the championship Cleveland James left in 2010 by way of a free-agent to be a part of the Miami Heat this was announced on television in the special The Decision and is among the most controversial free-agent decisions ever made in the history of sports.
