Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. While in college, she concentrated on her studies. She studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. After graduation, her focus shift to music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The track that was published directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. The singer decided to make acting as a profession after completing her first two ventures as a musician and author. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films like Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her EP "In Fina We Trust".
