Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue An. Ellis Taylor, American producer and actress. She is a graduate of the BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer and American actor active in the theatre as well as television and film. She started her career acting in the theatre but then proceeded to appear in many television series, mainstream and independent films. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also a number of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Film. She made her professional debut as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. Apart from Broadway's Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is renowned for her role in movies such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her high praise.
