AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. In the months following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest member of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
